This enables us to work with you to get your needs met both through our in-house services and any external services you may require. We work in partnership with the Essex Cares Sensory Rehabilitation team as well as Hearing Help Essex and our sight loss partner organisations across the county (Essex Sight, BASIS and Southend in Sight).
If you would like more information, please contact us on info@support4sight.org.uk or 01245 933572
We offer demonstrations of specialised technology and low vision equipment to enable independent living. All manner of equipment can be tried before purchasing to ensure it is exactly the right thing. Please come along to one of our coffee mornings or exhibitions, or, if you are unable to get to these, give us a call to arrange a home visit.
Support 4 Sight works closely with medical and nursing staff in hospital eye clinics and the sensory team in social services, to provide those recently diagnosed with an eye condition, the practical and emotional support needed to understand their diagnosis, deal with their sight loss and maintain their independence. We run a low vision clinic in Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow) and assessments to identify individual needs.
The support we offer assists people to live safely and independently at home. It includes how to cope with initial sight loss diagnoses, information on health issues, eccentric viewing (use of peripheral sight), advice on daily living skills, lighting and assistive equipment. We also offer a full range of social trips and events.
