Vision Impairment Awareness Training
This service is available to any organisation including businesses, public bodies, local authorities and charities.
Almost one sixth of people have a limiting long term illness, impairment or disability in Great Britain. In Essex there are over 7,000 people with sight problems.
Most of these people use services locally and many could be your customers, service users, interviewees or employees.
If your organisation takes part in this course, you will have a much greater awareness of the issues facing blind and partially sighted people and an improved understanding of how to assist, guide and support them.
Training is available at your own premises. This can be tailored to suit your requirements and could be half a day or a full day.
Our vision impairment awareness training courses are tailor made to suit each organisation and cover topics such as:
- The nature of vision impairment
- Practical advice on how to meet the needs of vision impaired people whether they are customers or colleagues
- Legislation regarding customers and employees and disability discrimination
On completion of the course, you will receive an individual certificate and an organisational certificate as appropriate.
