As National Eye Health Week 2026 comes to an end, we’re reminding everyone that looking after your eyes is important all year round.
Regular eye tests are an important part of taking care of your vision. They can help detect eye conditions at an early stage and can also identify signs of other health conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure. Early detection can make a real difference, as many conditions can be treated or managed more effectively when identified early.
This week, Liz joined Nicki, our Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO), and Ginny, Clinical Nurse Specialist, at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, where they were raising awareness of National Eye Health Week and providing information and support to people living with sight loss and their families.
October is Listening Month
At Support 4 Sight, we want to make sure that the services we provide continue to meet the needs of the people we support. That’s why October will be our Listening Month.
Throughout the month, we’ll be asking for your views about our services and the difference they make to you. We’ll be sending out a short feedback form and holding focus groups at our Sight Hubs, giving you the opportunity to tell us what works well, what could be improved and what support you would like to see in the future.
Your views really matter to us, and we’d love to hear from you.
Keeping connected
It’s also been a busy week for our team. Sharon has been attending the Visionary Conference at Aston University, taking part in panel discussions and workshops. Sharon was joined by Amrat to deliver a workshop on Maximising Your Board of Trustees. The conference was a great opportunity to network, share ideas and connect with organisations and people from across the sight loss sector.
Meanwhile, our Saffron Walden Sight Hub will be welcoming Hearing Help Essex on Tuesday 29 September, providing information and advice around hearing loss.
Whether it’s looking after your eye health, accessing support or sharing your experiences, Support 4 Sight is here to help.
