Friday Round-Up

Tommy celebrated the completion of his Thomas Pocklington Trust Get Set Progress Internship with a group presentation on Barriers to Employment for Blind and Partially Sighted People. Congratulations, Tommy, for speaking so clearly and for your fantastic contribution throughout the past nine months. The group also had the privilege of hearing from keynote speakers Matt Stringer, former CEO of the RNIB, and Lord Chris Holmes.

Our Saffron Walden picnic had a slight change of plan thanks to the hot weather! We moved indoors to enjoy the air conditioning at the Community Link, giving everyone the chance to stay cool while enjoying lunch together. The strawberries were definitely the highlight of the afternoon!

Chelmsford Lunch Club enjoyed another great get-together at The Globe, where everyone appreciated the welcome relief of the ice-cold air conditioning while catching up over lunch.

Our team office day included an insightful AI training session led by Ruth Mulandi. The session sparked some great discussions about how AI can support our organisation, its benefits and challenges, and what the future might hold.

Tonight we’re looking forward to one of our favourite events of the year, Cockney Night with Tom Carradine! Keep an eye on our page next week for photos and videos from what promises to be a fantastic evening.
