The Rainbow Group is an award winning collaboration of local sight loss organisations in England.
Matt presentation will be on a product that is in the final stages of development and he is looking for testers. It is a virtual white cane for the blind; it uses lidar and allows the user to feel distance. It’s has an adjustable range of feedback from 20m to 2m, the adjustments allow the user to measure distance and ‘feel’ objects’ shape and size. It also has a camera for object recognition; therefore, when paired with a smartphone, it will describe items you take a picture of.
