A Feast for all the Senses - a sensational success
The Open Day, entitled “A Feast for all the Senses”, which was held in the Saffron Walden Town Hall on Saturday 12th November, was heralded by visitors and stall holders as a triumph for the charity Saffron Sight. Visitors enjoyed delights that appealed to every sense; sight, taste, touch, music to hear, and smell. All sorts of goods were on display, from delicious wines and fine food to sample, a tactile potter’s wheel to try, and delightfully scented flower arrangements to smell and touch. Another important sense, hearing, certainly wasn’t overlooked and the event was marked by the participation of two local musical bands. Throughout the day, “Star Sound” a barber shop quartet performed a variety of favourite songs and the Saffron Walden Town Band performed orchestral musical classics for over one hour at lunchtime. The day was marked by the support of Mayor, Cllr Richard Freeman and Mayoress Jan Moore, who welcomed visitors to the event.
