Support 4 Sight is able to deliver a high-quality training course in Visual Awareness. Training is undertaken by our qualified trainer in the Sighted Guide technique, qualified Eye Clinic Liaison Officer, rehabilitation assistant and low vision specialist.
We are able to tailor our courses to your need, be it for a large Corporate organisation, NHS, GP surgeries and any other enlightened organisations that request our training.
Training includes information on eye conditions, how to guide a visually impaired person, how to communicate with visually impaired people and other vital information related to people with sight/sensory loss. Our courses are very hands on.
We use Simulation specs and other ways of experiencing sight loss and this is found to be most enlightening to everyone who has undergone our training.
We are able to offer courses either half day or full day. One important aspect is that we always have trainers who are visually impaired, and in fact, they may have more than one sensory condition. That way you would be able to hear from them how it is to live with sensory loss. We also have carers of our visually impaired trainers who can answer a different range of questions.
Some of the organisations who have experienced our training are Affinity Water, Essex County Council Social Care staff, Essex Museum Service, Royal Institute for the Deaf and Specsavers.
